How to adjust the opening size of a cone crusher
Date: 10/21/2026 Print collection
Adjusting the opening of a cone crusher is a key step to guarantee crushing performance, which directly affects the crusher’s capacity and finished particle size. The adjustment procedures are as follows: Adjust under shutdown status: Before adjustment, make sure the cone crusher is shut down for operation safety.
Understand the adjustment structure: Cone crushers are equipped with adjustable opening assemblies, which can change the crushing chamber volume by moving the movable parts on the inner wall of the crushing chamber. Loosen bolts: Open the feed hopper and the top cover of the crushing chamber to access the opening assembly on the inner wall. The assembly is fixed with bolts;
loosen these bolts to make the assembly movable. Adjust position: Move the opening assembly inward to reduce the crushing chamber for finer products; move it outward to enlarge the crushing chamber for coarser products. Adjust evenly: Keep uniform adjustment on both sides of the opening assembly to avoid unbalanced machine operation or uneven finished materials. Fasten bolts: After adjustment, fix the opening assembly in place by retightening the bolts.
Test and inspect: Start the crusher for trial operation and check the particle size of finished materials to verify the adjustment result.
Caution: Always follow the operation manual and safety rules strictly during adjustment. If necessary, operate under the guidance of professional technicians to ensure safe and correct adjustment.
